Theodore M. Carpenter, Jr.
President & CEO
Mr. Carpenter has served as Executive Vice President since January 1999 and was appointed CEO in May 2005. Prior to joining Heritage, Mr. Carpenter served as President and CEO of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of North Carolina for five years. Prior to such time, Mr. Carpenter was Vice President of Operations for Kaiser’s Northwest Region from 1988 to 1992. Mr. Carpenter holds a B.S. and M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and an M.S. in Health Services Administration from Harvard University.
Steven C. Holman
CFO & Senior Vice President
Mr. Holman joined Heritage in October 1994 as Senior Vice President – Finance, and was appointed CFO in October 2004. From August 1992 to September 1994, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Lakeside Health Services, Inc., an independent practice association and emerging medical group. Mr. Holman served as the Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller of FHP International Corporation from 1991 to 1992. From 1986 to 1991, Mr. Holman served as a Partner in the accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, where he was responsible for managing the firm’s heath care practice in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Holman holds a B.S. in accounting from the University of Southern California and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Sandra McAnallen
Senior Vice President, Southwest Operations
Ms. McAnallen joined Heritage in April 2005 as Senior Vice President of Southwest Operations. Prior to joining Heritage, Ms. McAnallen spent 9 years in the Senior Management Team of UPMC Health Plan in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in a variety of executive roles. She was part of the start up team for the UPMC Health Plan which grew the membership to 450,000 members. Before joining UPMC, Ms. McAnallen spent 10 years as Regional Director at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in the Managed Care Division. Ms. McAnallen holds a B.S.N. from Slippery Rock University and an M.A. in Leadership from Duquesne University.
Richard Harris
Senior Vice President, Healthplan Operations
Mr. Harris joined Heritage in April 1997 as Region Finance Director. He was appointed as Vice President of Management Services in December 1999, and to his current role in April 2005. For two and a half years prior to joining Heritage, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of HMO Texas, a start-up commercial and Medicare healthplan. He also served in several financial management roles, including Assistant Controller, with American Medical International, Inc. from 1985-1993. Mr. Harris holds a B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Russell P. Gantos, Jr
Vice President of Marketing and Product Management
Russell has more than 25 years of health care marketing experience gained in both provider and payer organizations. Prior to coming to Heritage Health Systems Inc., he was Vice President of Product Sales and Marketing for Community First Health Plans, a 120,000 member provider-owned MCO in San Antonio, Texas. Before joining CFHP, he was Vice President of Marketing and Operations for ECCA Managed Vision Care (EyeMasters managed care division) where he established the national sales and marketing organization for the nation’s third largest optical retailer’s entry into managed vision care. He began his career in the managed care industry with PacifiCare of the Southwest as Regional Vice President of Marketing, where had overall responsibility for all marketing efforts for both the commercial and Medicare products for the health plan’s 250,000 member Texas/Oklahoma region. Prior to that, he spent more than ten years in senior marketing roles in community, teaching and specialty care hospitals in Ohio.
Debra Baverman
Vice President, Compliance
Debra joined Heritage Health Systems in September 2005 as Vice President, Compliance brining over 17 years health care experience to the organization; with 10 + years concentration in the field of Compliance. Prior to joining Heritage, Debra was the Senior Director of Regulatory Compliance for BeechStreet Corporation, a national PPO and the Director of Compliance with SCAN Health Plan, a Medicare Advantage Organization in southern California. Penny Louviere
Regional Vice President Network Operations
Penny will continue as the executive leader for all GTPA (Beaumont) Operations. Penny has also been leading the integration of Global HealthPlan since the acquisition in March 2007 and will be responsible for the overall operations and leadership of Global HealthPlan in her new role. Penny has over 25 years experience in health care and has been a leader within our organization for over 10 years. |
